A chocolate figured laid still in the back of the den. By first glance it would be hard to recognize this blob of fur to be feline because of the strange position it seemed frozen in. Cureled into a standard cat-ball, white forepaws tucked against an ivory chest, head drawn inward-chin resting on the crest of her paws. The only thing missing was a long tail pulled around the she-cats flank, but in Deertails case it wasn't exactly possible. The she-cat was born with a stubbed tail, maybe an inch long. How she despised it, while all the other she-cats went around flaunting their long fluffy tails all she had was a stump that was only permitted limited motion.

The feline stirred lightly, shifting her weight to the side in an unconsious attempt to gain more comfort on the moss bedding. This only made the she-cat squish her paws under her weight, numbness climbing down her side a pair of emrald oculars appeared behind slitted eyelids. Now awake Deertail rolled to her paws, untucking them while in motion, so she lay there on her belly. Letting out a breath the cat blinked in the dim-lighted den, her chocolate and ivory fur ruffled in every derection from her sleep.

After a long pause Deertail shifted her paws derectly under her and lifted with some effort to get off the floor of the den. Firmly finding her forepaws places the feline leaned back as far as possible, the arch of her back lifting as her hindlegs stretched back and upward. Forehead falling down into the moss bedding below her Deertail remained in this stance for a while as she felt her muscle awaken with every inch deeper she moved. Returning to a normal standing position her head swiveled to the side as her jowls hinged open widly. White fangs were revealed behind leathery black lips which cureled back as the she-cat let out a large yawn to start off her day. Rolling her sholderblades back in one last stretch the chocolate feline let her eyes dance to the far end of the den-where the exit resided.

O.O.C.-- I'm new to this site, not really to rp, but still i'm alwas up for anyway to improve. I don't feel like reading over this because i'm tierd so sorry for any errors or if a part doesn't make sence, anyone feel free to aroach. c:

Swiftstep flew out of the warrior's den, several yowls of pain and screaches of war echoed in the gray she-cats ear. The first glisps of the camp horrified her, rats. A mangy chocolate one dashed before her forepaws as it chased a young apprentice. Muzzle wrinkling she swiped downward and stuck the thing in its place by catching its tail. The beast imidiatly turned and sunk its fangs into her forepaw, other paw lifting she batted at its head. First paw free with anotherswat the thing flew away from her, blood dripping from her leg. Still the warrior ran into the battle.

Otterfang let a hiss seep out of his maw ears twisting back against his skull as he lunged forward at a rat that darred rear back onto its hindlegs and threaten him. The brown tom reached up a forepaw and slashed at the black mongrels throat, tossing it forewards, bleeding, soon to die. On a swivel, he turned to see a chocolate rat latched onto a fellow warrior. Unsheathed claws flying forward in a large swing the cat managed to throw the beast off.

Her words startled the she-cat her 'bed-headed' fur rose of her flesh as she turned to face this new figure. Another feline, female; head jerking to the side Deertail wondered why she seemed so catious about speaking to her, hesitant maybe...Evergreen gaze narrowing her paper-thin ear twitched to the side. "Hello!" she coed in an ever-so-awake tone, considering the feline had just woken up. Shifting her weight around on her paws the chocolate and white she-cat stepped away from her nest of moss and stared at herfellow warrior. "I'm Deertail," she purred happily as she turned to the side and lifted her brown and ivory stubbed tail a little-sugesting her name was based on the charracteristics of her tail, it also could have been her pelt that was very similar to that of a deer. "I don't think we've met.." her oculars pertained interest as a twinge tugged at the edge of her lips, a grin surfacing on her face like a mask, etching its way deeped: to prove it was real.

Then again, why had she been so hesitant there for a second? The feline shrugged lightly, but she felt as if this other warrior wassn't all to sure about something. This fact dragging her thoughts in several different derections, Deertail was easily bugged by little details, perhaps to attentionate. Short, transparent whiskers twitching the she-cat decided to go on and find the answer from the sorrce rather than try and do so on her own. As she dropped everything else going on she questioned in a tone set apart and distinct, it sounded like she was demanding an answer, "Is there something wrong?"

A small gray figure padded in quietly, normally the young were so happy, scampering around and playing, but something was different now...Jaggedkit's light blue gaze held on the figures of cats in pain or franticly running back and forth between felines in an attempt to help. Tail flicking behind him the fluffy, young cat strode forward to the closest feline that was helping ((Mosspaw)) Halting at her paws he looked up with a sad expression. He felt pain just for watching the others lay sprawled amoung the area. "Wh-Whut happened?" he mewed looking down again at the others. He had managed to escape the poisions clutches, it hadn't effected him yet and he felt no symptoms, just confused about what was going down here. He swallowed harshly before looking back up at Mosspaw.

Even if Mosspaw couldn't copy the other apprentices tone exactly it still scarrred the kit a bit. Jaggedkit's ears lowered against his head tail creeping its way underneath him. Blue gaze adverting from the icy she-apprentice. After a while another question seeped into head, "Why is she sick?" he asked meakly, nearly inaudible.

Featherpaw leapt at a chocolate rat swiping with a pawful of unsheahed claws. The beast lept backward and jumped onto her paw, snapping down hard; blood drained from the wound as she tried to free herself. Only to find another rat on her back. "Help!" she wailed as another one approached. The chocolate rat held its grip on Featherpaws foot no matter howw much she did to try and escape.

    (2/2)

Otterfang reared back onto his hindlegs as a rat lunged at his throat and clamped onto flesh, blood dripped from the tom as he swiped at it. The chocolate beast refused to release though and the tom fell backwards as another gray rat leapt for his hindpaw and brought him down in pain.

Leathery lips cureling backward, sharp white teeth were revealed. The chocolate tom caught a gray rat in his jowls and bit down until the squeeling beast went limp before he spit it out. The nasty tinge hanging on his tounge. Muzzle wrinkled the tom swiped violently at a rat approaching the feline that had helped him before that now stood next to him in the fight. Green gaze glowing he snapped his tail to the side flicking away a rat that hung there.

OOC: Crabclaw, I have to, I think you have to wait.

IC: Featherpaw couldn't hear the advise of the others over the sound of war rampaging in the area. Blinking her golden gaze she swiped away a gray rat and then lunged after it, claws ready. Landing on the beast its neck snapped and as it fell limp another ran to its aid, squeeling for the death of a fellow it plotted revenge by snapping at Featherpaws qounded paw. Leaping back she hissed, the rat escaping before she could attack.

Jaggedkit froze with fear as the fox came into sight, battleing with the warrior. If only he was bigger, if only he was an apprentice then he would help. Maybe I can! He thought charging the fox. The young kit didn't stand a chance but he stood tall facing the fox as it clamped down on the warrior. A distraction was what Jaggedkit was attempting to puull off. "Hey!" he puffed out, "Leave her alone, worthless peice of crowfood!" he yowled gaining the foxs attention forceing him to quit shaking the feline.

Stonefang glarred at the wolf pup, "I don't care how big of an advantage it gives us. It's another mouth to feed, and a big one. And what have wolves been known to do? Eat and attack us. What if this pup is some kind of trap or decoy for its pack?" The gray toms tail lashed, his tone was loud and proud. Claws unsheathing as the pup barred its fangs, "You see?" he spoke to the others in the clan, "Dangerous, a danger to all of our families and our clan."

The stocky gray feline watched with untrusting eyes harshly set on the pup, listening to the others babble. After his pause he slid down from his perch on a rock and strode towards the group, tail lashing behind him. Towering over the kit and the pup as he managed his way to the front of the crowd. A scowl etched on his face the tom shifted his gaze over to Truthteller, was she on his side or not? If he was to continoue his point he needed backup. "Don't pity beast that will grow up to rampage through our camps.:"
